The nominees must be
individuals in Malaysia or
companies or organisations
domiciled in Malaysia.

The National Press Club-MACROKIOSK Muhibbah Awards

A monthly award to recognise any individual, company or organisation that best exemplifies the true spirit of Muhibbah in Malaysia.

The Muhibbah spirit

Muhibbah refers to extending a hand in one’s hour of need, promoting goodwill and friendship
and having the heart to reach out to another irrespective of race, religion or nationality or showing
great compassion for nature and animals.

The joint initiative

It is a joint initiative of the National Press Club (NPC) and MACROKIOSK to inspire and recognise any individual, company or organisation in Malaysia that exemplifies the true spirit of Muhibbah.

The rewards

The award carries a cash endowment for the winner or the winner’s nominated cause or charity. The organisers may add on other rewards from time to time at their sole discretion.

The judges

The monthly award recipient is selected by an independent rotating panel of judges which comprises media editors and senior journalist.

Criteria

Procedure

National Press Club

  • Anyone who walks the extra mile for any person, cause, organisation or even plants and animals in the most altruistic sense.
  • Anyone who promotes and supports a worthy cause at risk to self or family members,
    without regard to race, creed, gender or ideology.
  • Winners can be from any nationality, or they may even be Stateless.
  • Post-humous awards are allowed.
  • Nominations may be made by anyone through the channels as decided by the NPC from time to time.
  • The panel may also consider candidates without nomination if it is satisfied that the candidate deserves the award without direct nomination.
  • Self-nominations will not be accepted or considered.
  • The panel will decide the selection process in any manner it deems fit.
  • Anyone whose courageous deeds involve personal self-sacrifice or going beyond the call
    of duty in the name of humanity and/or charity.
  • Anyone who is committed to serving others as demonstrated by an act or acts of selfless service.
  • Anyone whose generosity of spirit and dedication resulted in the betterment of people in need (defined as needing shelter, food, clothing, education and meaningful employment).
  • Anyone whose outstanding involvement and dedication have made a significant contribution of volunteer leadership or service which has improved or enriched the lives of others and the welfare of humanity and society as a whole.
  • Anyone whose act of kindness done without expectation of reward resulted in recognition by members of a community, family or institution.
  • Only successful winners will be contacted.
